More evidence continue to emerge to nail Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi for directing public funds to Maryam Yaro, a said married mistress whom he gave a job at the CBN. Sanusi’s camp has vehemently denied the allegations which were brought to ignited by
Premium Times who had accused the governor of abusing his office in order to advance an amorous relationship with a woman.
The CBN had also sent out a denial claiming that Yaro not a CBN staff but, that was employed at Nigeria Incentive-based Risk Sharing Systems For Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), and that the governor had no hand in her recruitment.
However, SaharaReporters have come out to say it has obtained records proving the CBN was lying. The documents they claim to have
suggests that the NIRSAL, to which Yaro is attached, is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up by the Federal Government through a partnership between the CBN and the Federal
Ministry of Agriculture and also, the project is domiciled in the

revealed that it is the CBN’s human resource department that hires staff for NIRSAL, and it is Sanusi who approves all recruitments into the
agency.
Since the Premium Times broke the news, they have been under inmense pressure from Sanusi’s associates but they said they were not surprised.
Idris Akinbajo acting managing editor at the publication told reporters: “We knew the story was going to shock a lot of people. We were under no illusion that it would take a lot of time
for many to swallow the bitter truth of the revelations made in the story,” he said. “We have discharged our responsibility of providing information we believe citizens need in order to hold officials accountable. “ “Our job is done, as we will only continue to
provide additional information as necessary. It is left for Nigerians to either demand accountability or live without it – and so continue to celebrate the indiscretions of their
leaders.” “We stand firmly by our story and look forward to the moment the CBN Governor will boldly look Nigerians in the face and say any of the things we reported did not happen.”
